Catherine Farrell

Partner and co-founder

Prior to establishing Farrell Rose Migration Lawyers, Catherine practised at Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers for over a decade, most recently as a partner. 

Catherine has been recognised as an accredited specialist in immigration law by the Law Institute of Victoria since 2020 and was recently included in the 17th edition of the Best Lawyers in Australia for Immigration Law in 2025.  

Catherine advises across the entire spectrum of immigration law, including but not limited to judicial review applications in the High Court of Australia, Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She represents both migration and refugee applicants in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and assists with visa applications, cancellations and character matters.

Catherine is currently serving as co-chair of the Migration Law Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria.

Bethany Rose

Partner and co-founder

Bethany has eight years’ experience in immigration and refugee law both internationally and domestically. She worked for a number of years at Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers, as a decision maker at the UNHCR in Thailand, as an Associate to a Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria and for two years, led a team of lawyers at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. She was the 2022 winner of the Law Council of Australia’s John Gibson Young Australian Migration Lawyer of the Year.

Bethany advises across the migration program with particular expertise in family, humanitarian and refugee visa categories as well as complex character cancellation and immigration detention work. Bethany’s practice is client-centric and trauma informed.
